College Station
Most College Station addresses are billed by the city utility. A smaller set is billed by BTU and pays a franchise fee — read the name on the bill before you apply for a rebate. CSU customers cannot shop a retail electric provider.
Replace a matching central AC or heat-pump system at 16 SEER or higher in an existing home and CSU pays $600 (16 SEER), $700 (17), or $800 (18+). Both indoor and outdoor units must match on the AHRI certificate. A city building inspection is required after install.
Energy Back II$30 for an eligible Wi-Fi thermostat. LED credit is $2 per lamp up to $20 per year. Energy Conservation staff will walk a CSU electric customer’s home at no charge — call the number on the city survey page. Run our diagnostic survey first if you want numbered causes before that visit.
CSU conservation programsBTU publishes a College Station residential rate that includes a 5% franchise fee. Those homes use SmartHOME, not Energy Back II. When in doubt, match the rebate to the utility name on the statement.
BTU / SmartHOME hubThe College Station warehouse on State Hwy 6 is the Brazos Valley club. New residents and students can print a filled Refer-a-Friend flyer for $20 or $40 shop cards each at the membership counter — in-person only.
