Costco membership benefits in College Station (warehouse 1614)

If you live in Bryan, College Station, or on campus at Texas A&M, the nearest Costco is warehouse 1614 on State Highway 6. This is an evergreen guide to membership benefits — not a weekly price list, and not a replacement for the Refer-a-Friend hub. What warehouse 1614 actually has

Address: 4321 State Hwy 6 South, College Station, TX 77845 (warehouse 1614).

Costco lists these services at this location (among others): gas station, pharmacy, optical, hearing aids, tire service center, food court, bakery, plus fresh deli, meat, and produce inside the warehouse. There is no separate “markdown feed” for this club — see finding deals below.

Hours (confirm on Costco)

Warehouse shopping hours depend on tier. As listed on the warehouse page when we checked:

The gas station opens earlier than the warehouse (typically 6:00 AM on weekdays). We do not publish pump prices here — they move daily and vary by location. Pharmacy is closed on Sunday at this warehouse; call (979) 321-6560 for weekday and Saturday hours.

Gold Star vs Executive

Executive is not automatically worth $65 more. The published upgrade premium is $65/year. At 2% back on eligible spend, you need about $3,250/year in qualifying purchases before the extra reward covers that premium ($65 ÷ 0.02 = $3,250). Costco caps the annual 2% reward at $1,250 for Executive members.

What does not count toward 2%

Per Costco Customer Service (CU1483), qualifying spend excludes several high-volume categories. In Texas, that notably includes alcohol, gasoline, food court purchases, tobacco, and Costco Shop Card purchases. If most of your club spend is gas and the $1.50 hot dog, Executive’s 2% math looks worse than a spreadsheet that counts everything.

Downgrade, refund, and reward certificates

Executive’s 2% is paid as an Annual 2% Reward Certificate, not cash handed across the counter. Costco’s membership refund policy (CU2599) says you can apply the certificate at front-end registers (not self-checkout) or toward membership renewal. If you cancel or downgrade within the membership year, Costco subtracts issued or accrued 2% rewards from any Executive upgrade refund.

YouTube explainers often oversimplify this. The Money Resolution (2026 Executive perks) repeats a “they handed me cash” story — treat that as unverified against Costco CS. Your Finance Friend (2026 worth-it) matches warehouse 1614’s early Executive hours but also glosses over refund mechanics. Travel and Same-Day delivery

First-year shop cards (pick one path)

Costco sometimes runs verified shop-card promos for teachers or military through partners like SheerID. Those are not a cheaper annual fee, and we do not list dollar amounts unless a live Costco or SheerID page is in front of us. For a predictable first-year offset, use one of these:

Refer-a-Friend at the membership counter (recommended here)

Bring a friend (or someone lapsed 18+ months) to any U.S. Costco membership desk. When both of you enroll in auto-renewal on a Visa and provide email, Costco emails each of you a Digital Shop Card:

Alternative: UNiDAYS student offer

UNiDAYS still listed $20 / $40 shop-card language for students as of 2026-08-25. That path is online verification, not the in-warehouse Refer-a-Friend form. Pick one promotion — do not stack.

What is not a membership benefit

• No standing student, military, or senior discount on annual dues. Costco’s published fee is the fee.
• Refer-a-Friend is not online. It requires the membership counter.
• Visa auto-renewal is a promo requirement for Refer-a-Friend shop cards. The warehouse still accepts debit, cash, EBT, and Shop Cards at checkout.
• Shop cards are not cash. They spend at Costco; they are not a utility rebate against your BTU or CSU electric bill.

Finding markdowns and manager specials

Costco does not publish an official “warehouse 1614 markdown” RSS feed. Practical habits:

1. Walk the aisles — look for prices ending in .97 (manager markdown) or asterisk price tags on the shelf label.
2. Costco app — set your warehouse to College Station and browse warehouse savings before you go.
3. Warehouse Runner (third-party, user-reported) can flag store 1614 deals; inventory can be wrong. Treat it as a hint, not gospel.
